Free support to recruit and retain volunteers

Are you a voluntary and community group in Wakefield District? Do you need support to recruit and retain volunteers? Wakefield District’s Volunteer Centre offers a range of free services to groups and organisations.

Help to recruit and manage volunteers

Our Volunteer Centre Wakefield District works with a wide range of voluntary organisations, community groups and other not-for-profit organisations. Its aim is to help recruit and retain volunteers for these organisations. One of the best ways of doing this is to consider how to best work with volunteers. It has been proven by ensuring that volunteering good practice is in place, your chances of keeping your volunteers and helping them to make a positive contribution to your group are enhanced.

Join the Volunteer Managers Forum

Our Volunteer Centre Wakefield District also offers one-to-one help and is in the process of setting up a new Volunteer Managers Forum, where you can meet up and or contact other people who manage volunteers across the district. This forum was set up to encourage the sharing of volunteering good practice at grass routes level.

Promote your volunteering opportunities

Our Volunteer Centre helps voluntary and community groups to find volunteers by promoting their volunteering opportunities. We do this in a variety of ways. This includes promoting volunteering and volunteering opportunities at our Volunteer Centre, public events, meetings and in the wider community. We advertise volunteering opportunities via the www.do-it.org.uk website, which is the national database of UK volunteering opportunities.

Contact our Volunteer Centre to find out more about promoting your volunteering opportunities.
